Nurse Practitioners

The practice promotes the regular use of nurse practitioners. The aim of this is to provide quicker and wider access to a health professional for any health problem you may have. Being experienced Pharmacists and Nurses, allows them to extend their nursing roles and offer appointments alongside those offered by the doctors. They are able to diagnose and prescribe for many illnesses or can refer you for further care should it be necessary.

Reception

Our reception care navigators provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. At the doctors request, they will ask you for details of your symptoms or enquiry can provide basic advice and information on services and direct you to the right person or service.

Pharmacists

Mr Khaleel Loonat (m)

Clinical pharmacists work as part of the general practice team to resolve day-to-day medicine issues and consult with and treat patients directly. This includes providing extra help to manage long-term conditions, advice for those on multiple medications and better access to health checks. The role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and ensuring patient safety.

Having a clinical pharmacist in GP practices means GPs can focus their skills where they are most needed, for example on diagnosing and treating patients with complex conditions.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Your local healthvisitor is an integral part of the practice team. You can contact your health visitor on 0300 304 5555.
